Hopefully the gap will be narrowed to 7 relegations v 6 promotions this year.

Me too. 67/68 was my first ever season and that went well!
Long waits between but memorable evening games at home against Cochester (74/75) and Bristol City (85/86).
Packed and brilliant atmospheres, both clinching promotion on the night?
Looking on GOS the home gates for 74/75 were impressive. Everton and Blackburn in particular.
Fingers crossed for the run in this year. Overhaulling Donny would be something else but getting up will do.

I got my first season ticket.

We got my relegated.

I renewed and during the season got a job working for the club.

We got relegated again and went into administration.

I have since seen a loss in the play off semis (that awful awful evening at Wycombe away) and a loss in the play off final.

If we blow it this year then I give up.

On a side note, I wonder who has gained the most promotions and suffered the most relegations over the past 50 years or so - Bury, Shrewsbury and Posh bring to mind.

I am on 8 ups, 7 downs and 3 blow outs in play-offs

Apologies, I should have pointed out the question posed on an Argyle fans forum used by Argyle fans was actually directed at the experience of Argyle fans. :)

A bit uncalled for. I was initially making the point in response to thinking that 8 promotions in our entire history is indeed very few...

Yep, it will really feel like the club is cursed if you're 18-odd and you see us fail again, from this position.

From 2002 to 2008 we felt almost invincible. Since then, success seems to be something that other clubs have.

5-4 down.

Snap - was trying to work it out for myself but thanks ham green! First regular attendance from 88/89 for me. Refusing to let the miseries spoil this season after the last near decade of failure and sorrow

Is that directed at me Ian or are you saying that Fergy was out of order to ask the question about supporters elsewhere?

Imagine being a Coventry fan. Some of them will be lucky to remember winning the cup but they haven't had a promotion season of any sort for 50 years. Even a top 6 finish has been a rarity.

yes but that is because until recently they have been very successful in staying in the top league.

Have you noticed that either Darlington or Colchester are involved in 4 of the last 5 promotions. Could it be 5 from 6?

First game was in 2001. Seen 2 promotions (01/02 & 03/04) and 2 relegations (09/10 & 10/11). I hadn't suffered enough to really appreciate those two promotions. I certainly have now I think.
