7 - 7 for me but to be fair, I don't remember the first one of each in 1952 and 1956.

Hopefully the gap will be narrowed to 7 relegations v 6 promotions this year.

Also the same. Started off with relegation with Rotherham. Looks likely we will also be back in Div 3 together next year.

Until not that long ago, us and Gas were the only sides not to have been in top league or bottom league (Divs 1 & 4 for oldies, Prem & Div 2 for youngsters). Seems like we've been in this poxy, previously un thinkable league for yonks. Even with promotion, L 2 (stupidly named Championship) still feels quite a way off. At least we seem to be moving in the right direction at last.

3 promotions 96, 2002 and 2004.

I've been watching Argyle since the mid-80s and the highs and lows for me...

1984 FA Cup Quarter Final at home to Derby (won the reply)
1984 FA Cup Semi Final at Villa Park

Like a previous poster, I experienced all these...

Promotion 1985/86
Relegation 1991/92
Relegation 1994/95
Promotion 1995/96 *Wembley Play Off Final
Relegation 1997/98
Promotion 2001/02
Promotion 2003/04
Relegation 2009/10
Relegation 2010/11

The second trip to Wembley was a huge anticlimax too!!

The highlight for me as a kid was the FA Cup Semi Final in 84, but the most enjoyable and exciting time as an Argyle fan were the Championship days under Ian Holloway where we dared to toy with the thought of making the Play Offs and played some great football with the likes of Halmosi, Buzsaky, Ebanks-Blake, Gosling, Timar, Norris etc. Obviously, the then board got cold feet, sold off the crown jewels and the rest is history... but for a brief moment, we were at least dreaming of the Premier League!!

As a newish fan started supporting argyle in 2006 at 8 years old. I have seen 2 relegations. First from the championship and then from league 1, Along with 0 promotions

Looking at it another way the last two relegations (certainly the last one) were nothing to do with football and more about financial mis-management but the record books won't show that.

Same for me. Still remember that empty desolate feeling as a 12 year old as I leant on a crush barrier on the old popular side thinking I wouldn't see some of the big teams next year but at least it would be easy and we would bounce back playing all those little clubs next season. I remember the first game the following season was little old Crewe at home who were newly promoted from the 4th division. I went along expectantly thinking it would be a stroll in the park but I think it was a 2-2 draw and realism set in as we faced half a dozen seasons in the third tier.

First game was Argyle v Fulham on Boxing day, I think the season after Wembley in 1996.

Since then

1997/98 - Relegation: Wotton cyring at Burnley.
2001/02 - Promotion: Rochdale and Darlington away :)
2003/04 - Promotion: QPR home :)
2009/10 - Relegation: genuinely blanked these memories out, have no idea when we got relegated
2010/11 - Relegation: as above,
2016/17 - Promotion: home to Newport (Fingers crossed)

3 v 2 to Relegation, as it stands. Almost a draw.

Chuck in an Administration and a couple of play off defeats it is poo!

I've been attending Home Park and following Argyle since I moved to Plymouth in 1992. My first full/proper season was 1993/94 (Shilton's Nearly Men). So, my promotion:relegation ratio is 3:4 with two near promotion near misses (play-off defeats) and quite a few relegation near misses too.

6-4 against at the moment. I was at the game that relegated us in the mid/late 70s. Whilst I was around, don't remember and therefore don't count the early 70s promotion!

I became a 'every gamer' in January 2010 and got my first season ticket the following season...

So 2 relegations, 0 promotions. Not sure how I'll cope with a promotion, should it happen.

Does Wembley count as a half-relegation?

Can only remember the two Sturrrock promotions vividly but two promotions and two relegations for me.

On a side note, I wonder who has gained the most promotions and suffered the most relegations over the past 50 years or so - Bury, Shrewsbury and Posh bring to mind.
