1 is a still from the Jill Craigie 1946 film The Way We Live. It's the taxi rank outside Plymouth North Road station. Jill Craigie was Michael Foot's wife and the film is about the beginning of the reconstruction of the city. Brilliant film and well worth a watch.

We used to walk out from Plymouth in the late 50s on Good Friday, overnight, to buy them. One of the highlights of the year.
