So the two real issues l feel that will determine RL Legacy as Argyle manager.
The Wing Back system feels like are playing a system where we are trying to fudge it by playing people who aren’t equipped to do both jobs, attacking and defending, well. It’s a specialised position. Yet after 14 months of this 3-5-2 system it feels we don’t play to the systems strengths. Moore is the closest thing to a wing back as he has the energy to get up and down the pitch but the problem is the final pass or decision making.
Which brings me onto point two. The composure in the final third. Its not just one player to single out but many of them. It’s like we become panic stricken and pass the wrong pass or don’t execute the pass / cross very well. It is happening in so many games that it’s now a concern that for an attacking team (who gives the opposition chances) that we are making bad decisions on a consistent basis. That game today in the second half against a poor side was pretty atrocious. Times the players under no pressure lost the ball. It was careless.
