Just seen some of the photos on the usual matchday thread to see PV are watering the pitch.

I am always amazed that clubs including Argyle do that.

It p**sed down yesterday but clubs persist in watering, even at half-time. With parts of the country under hosepipe bans it is stupid.

On the Argyle podcast, this is all explained by the head groundsman... something to do with cooling the surface down.

Most clubs collect rainwater now and will pay through the roof for water company provision

A softer surface can also reduce injuries.

Watering at half time keeps the whole pitch moist..
