From the people I spoke to on the day and since, it sounds as if the stewards did an admirable job at the Newport game.

People are very quick to come on and bash them but from what I witnessed they joined in with the carnival atmosphere and joined in as much as they could.

Credit where credit is due.

Well done to the High Viz's. :scarf:

Never had a problem or seen a problem with stewards in my 68 years of supporting Argyle until the Newport game, their heavy handed approach to dealing with a couple of brilliant Agyle flags being draped over the front of the grandstand was shall I say an embarrassment. It could have easily got out of control because of the stewards attitude when removing the flags during the game without any discussions with the fans who placed the flags there.

This is the very same steward whom I had issues with last game against Crawly! It's just arrogance by some but they are the minority.

The steward who was the 'barrier' when the players paraded on the pitch offered his hand to shake to me and my daughters - top bloke - think he was '#25'

The supervisor and stewards in the Devonport End were great before, during, and after the game, where they shared the enjoyment of the occasion.

I agree and emailed the club yesterday morning to give my positive feedback on the stewards in the Devonport end. Can't imagine the club receive much positive feedback (especially regarding the stewards) - not because there's nothing to compliment but people generally only leave feedback after a negative experience.

It's interesting to note that some stewards have the same ID numbers on their jackets?!

Was talking to a steward before the pitch invasion while waiting and he said 'If you did this normally you'd get banned' and said they wont try and stop us. I think its really good that they can appreciate how long we've waited and allowed a very special moment to happen!

Credit where it is due they did a great job.

Having seen some rather ugly videos of other club's pitch invasions where stewards are seen throwing youngsters about and kicking people while they're down it gives me an appreciation of the good work ours did on Monday.

Fans went on the pitch without much fuss and were escorted off in a calm and orderly manner. It just makes the memory of the day that bit more special and reflects well on Argyle when other clubs are sharing videos of a happy man in a wheelchair enjoying every second of that promotion rather than stewards kicking seven bells out of a someone for the fun of it at other clubs.

A huge thank you to the stewards for doing their part in making Monday a memorable occasion for all the right reasons! :scarf:

This, and I'm normally an arch critic. Well done
