Not a great start for Europe, who lost all of the first three holes played over two matches. It’s early days but they’ll have to improve significantly to keep the cup.

The putting by both sides has been dreadful, especially Europe.

Currently, the USA are 3 up after 5 holes, 1 up after 3 holes, 1 up after 2 holes and all square in the other match.

Europe took the Friday afternoon fourballs 3-1 so the score of 3-5 is much better going into Saturday morning’s foursomes.

If it stays like this, it will be Europe 5 1/2 USA 6 1/2.

An impressive comeback by Europe after their shoddy performance yesterday morning.

As with the Ryder Cup, it was a day of, ‘they’re going win, they’re going to lose…’ but in the end, a 14-14 scoreline means Europe retain the Solheim Cup.

As on the first morning, the putting by both sides was woeful, but if the Ryder Cup serves up the same level of drama next week, it should be a good watch.
