He had an excellent game. A lesser ref would have dished out more yellow cards for sure. Always a good sign when you don’t really notice the referee.

Good ref and let the game flow. Players respected him specially after Sarc was chipping away at him and he brought Sawyer over to shut him up and to control the rest of the boys. 9 from me.

Got to smile Brett Huxtable in the top 6 twice :)

I think 9/10 and 10/10 is exceedingly generous. Possibly an 8.

No need to call over Sawyer when telling off Sarce early doors - it was dissent from one individual and didn't need the captain's intervention.

I quite liked how he ran with the Rovers players when they celebrated their first goal to keep an eye on them rather then go back to the centre circle and whittle furiously like every other ref seems to do.

Not much for him to do otherwise (I concede that that was probably down to his overall control of the game) so no major judgements to get wrong (unlike the ones he did get wrong at Bournemouth recently).

I think I gave him a 7 immediately after the match but was probably stingy so 8.

Very very good. I told him so on the way to his car as well.

He really was slumming it this weekend if he had to drive himself. He wont be used to that.

Hi wife probably came down with him and was staying at [say] their Looe hotel for the weekend.

My point being, he would be used to being chauffeured to and from stadiums along with the other three officials. It can’t be often these days that he takes his own car/the company car actually to a football ground.
