Horse Racing on a tiny track Pennycross Plymouth. The stadium opened in 1928 with dog racing. In 1931 motorcross was introduced. Stock Car or Banger racing also was also held. Pennycross stadium now the site of Cherry Tree Pub

That's how I remember it. Didn't Peter Green-era Fleetwood Mac play there c. 1970? (The stadium, not the pub!)

Yep, the original Mac did play the stadium in 1969. Twice, I believe in May and September.
