Our attack

You have to give the opposition some praise for not allowing them to play.
True but what about most of the other games since Jan 2024, we lack fluidity in midfield with exception of Randell. Both strikers have run out of fuel

See my suggested formation on thread "need more energy up front".

Trouble is we are pretty unlikely to get a cheap goal from a set piece either. 2 goals from corners all season I think and one of those was very lucky.

Sorry phil, what was that? Our attack?
Possibly not start with Scarr up front, but he could definitely do a good job there later in the game winning headers in the box, scoring and creating space for Hardie, Whittaker.

George Foster, Dion Dublin, Chris Sutton and others (please see link below) have played for years at centre half and years at centre forward.

Then , as we all know, many great
centre halves have played up front for the last 5 or 10 minutes and scored or made crucial goals, such as
Hyypia, Terry, Lúcio, Godín
Ivanovic, Piqué , G. Coughlan,
Ramos , Alexanco, Maguire,
Van Dijk etc..

Perhaps we could start with
Waine and Hardie together up front and Whittaker just behind them in a free role in the centre. Then Bundu to come on for the last 25 minutes against tiring defenders and Issaka too on the left wing or just behind the
centre forward(s).
Remembering that in January 2023,
Waine and Hardie started together and both scored in the 0-2 win at Bristol Rovers in the Papa Johns Trophy.

Or start with Bundu and Hardie up front, Whittaker just behind them then
Waine to come on later and Issaka too !

We have massively overachieved this season bar Ian Foster reign. Credit were credit is due to the players. They have worked tirelessly all season to get to 48 points. However it is blatantly obvious we simply don't have enough championship standard players. And the squad depth is very thin. Unfortunately when your running on empty we don't have the squad depth like other teams in this league to change it. Or go for different formations. If we do stay up we're going to need some investment or it's going to be a very long season ahead.

Unfortunately the recruitment in January was very poor and although Forshaw is a championship player he gets injured far to often.

Reading the title.

Do we have an attack. The difference between Aug to Dec and post Christmas is just huge.

Not sure why tbh. As some have said already Summer will see huge changes ( if we sell Morgs)

We needed a Morsy type player but we signed Adam Forshaw who spends more time off the pitch than on it
Our budget dictates the players we sign
The haves & have nots of the Championship is glaring obvious
Even if we sell the family silver we will still not be able to compete in this league
The teams coming down from the PL & the teams coming up from League 1 will make it even tougher for us next season

The injury to Gyabi did us no favours and Forshaw's injury didn't look good today. Caleb did OK but he is young and still lightweight for this level. For me we have to go 3 in CM if that means going 4 ATB or 2 upfront so be it. Devine did OK today in a pretty dismal team performance.
4-2-3-1 rest of the season please

Hardie had nothing but crap balls to chase today. I felt sorry for him to be honest.
You are right. However that shows his limitations. He can't win a header and he never comes short to link up with midfield. Time and time again the ball is put up in his general direction and the centre half wins it without a challenge

Agree with many other posters that a midfield 3 is needed. In respect of attack if Hardie is to be kept playing what about off an old fashioned target man....perhaps Phillips is worth a go up top, to be physical and hold the ball up.
Scarr could do the job, I would say
