The recent EFL awards were worse - Adebayo Akinfenwa included in the EFL (not EFL 2) team of the year. On which planet does that make any sense?
He's in the League Two PFA team of the season too so not only was he voted in by managers (EFL) but the players too. 17 goals and 14 assists is a good record though, not sure why you think it doesn't make sense.

Er, well aside from the fact heā€™s in his mid thirties and canā€™t run perhaps because Marriott scores 26 goals in the division above. Or Pittman who scored 22 or Grigg who scored 18 and knocked city out of the cup. AA might be Wycombeā€™s best striker but any other accolade is stretching it a bit...

Akinfenwa has contributed to more goals than any of the players you've mentioned.

I was disappointed to see so many players selected from the two clubs, Blackburn and Wigan. You would think there was little class demonstrated in players in all the remaining Division One teams

Based on the fact that players vote for this specific "award", it is not surprising that GC10 didn't feature when a number of teams, in the first quarter if the season, put us to the sword and none of our players were particularly shining at the time.
