To start in the A-League for the season 24/25 and financed wholly and solely by the American owner of AFC Bournemouth.

Hasn’t been confirmed but I suspect that they will play their home games at the QBE Stadium in Albany, Auckland which is good for me. It’s an 1800km round trip if I want to watch Wellington Phoenix, whereas Auckland will only be 300km and I used to do that every other week to watch Argyle.

Interesting.

The A league did have a team from Auckland many years back, but have never had two teams from NZ at the same time.

We did indeed and I regularly drove to Auckland to watch a game.

Money talked however, and Phoenix was "born" in Wellington.
