Ciftci replaced after 55 minutes yesterday. Craig Tanner brought on in his place. Not sure if that change was tactical or enforced.

To give a bit of context on this:

Given his lack of football for you guys he's nowhere near match fit. Stephen Robinson (Motherwell's manager) suggested he's about 70% at the moment. So Ciftci's been getting 60-70 mins of a run out until he's up to speed. Yesterday was the 3rd game in a week with fixtures on Wednesday and Saturday coming up. The substitution after 55 mins would probably have been mindful that he's still finding fitness and there's a congested fixture list.

Ciftci's been largely what we expected we'd be getting so far and IMO he's exactly what we were looking for. He holds the ball up, he's creative and brings others into play. He's played as part of a partnership with Curtis Main and Tanner's been playing off them as a #10. It's early days but it looks like it'll work well, some of his flicks and link up play have been lovely.

So far he's helped create the penalty in the 2-0 win against Hamilton Accies in the Cup last week and set up the 2nd against Ross County on Wednesday having shown decent strength to win the press the centre half and assisting with an outstanding through ball.

As an aside, it took Tanner ages to adjust and find a space in the team. He was hooked at half time in a few games at the start of the season but over the past run of games he's been absolutely outstanding, chipping in with goals and looking a genuine attacking threat.
