Some of the sponsors may have representatives not particularly knowledgeable about football. Hearing Graham Carey’s name chanted for most of the last 5 minutes may have influenced this decision.

Ness needs a chant if he keeps us this form.

Jamie Ness my Lord- bit too aristocratic, reserved for players who play like geniuses but don’t break sweat.
Jamie Ness is magic might be better

Don't know if it's the same now but when I've been involved in sponsorship the MOTM had to be chosen about 15 minutes before the end.

I had some Rovers friends come down (father and daughter), have a bit of lunch with us then walk to/from the game from our place. They were appalled by the Rovers fans and can't understand what is happening as the influx of meatheads is quite recent. It is worrying for them as season ticket holders who also attend the odd away game (they said it was the same at Oxford).

Anyway, they thought our best player was Taylor followed by Carey

Don’t wish to diss your friends Penlee but that is a load of old trolley.

Ask Oxford, Swindon and particularly Wycombe fans if that is true.

The Gas have always had problem fans, all the way back to the 70’s.

Yep fair enough that is my recollection too, this was a guy in his fifties and his daughter in her twenties who are season ticket holders so they do have a valid viewpoint.

Maybe it went away a bit in the last decade and the old guard have decided to resurface.

I thought they were about the worst I'd seen down here for some years

Surely the creative ones can come up with something along the lines of

Nessie the loch ness monster lives down in the West Country ...

to the tune of puff the magic dragon.

I'm sure someone with better wordsmith ability than I can come up with a witty second line!

That tune is Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer surely?

Nessie the loch ness monster lives down in the West Country
and if you ever saw him
you would think he was Messi
All of the other players
love to give Nessie a pass
then he can turn around and
put defenders on their ... bottoms!
