There is a report doing the rounds. That the PL will abolish points deductions and give teams a heavy fine and that could come in soon as the Summer and when Chelsea and Man City’s case gets heard the fine will apply then

It goes to show that the Premier League is incapable of regulating itself. These clubs have written and agreed to the rules and still break them. The prem can’t even enforce them with any consistency or authority. When the independent regulator comes in they need to set up live monitoring as they have in other leagues and have very clear tariffs and penalties. Nowhere to hide then.

And the beauty of live monitoring is that the regulator will be able to refuse transfers if it pushes teams over the line financially.

All signings await PL / EFL approval, so they'll just factor in a financial check too.

No more, "we spent £500m because we THOUGHT we'd sell x y and z for £450m".
