Leicester Harmsworth House

I found myself reading an article on Plymouth Live on the plans for the old Waterstones store which of course retained the facade of Leicester Harmsworth House, the old Western Morning News Headquarters. There was no mention of the original building being one of the few in the city centre to survive the Blitz intact. It would only have taken a brief reference to make the point. Perhaps elsewhere in the print edition - is there still one? - or previously somewhere the wartime reference appeared or perhaps no-one felt it was important or was even aware of it. As an exile it's been a while since I've been 'back home' so it may well be that the city has a green - and why not!- plaque system like the blue plaques in London - to identify places oh historical interest. If not, why not?
