RIP John Sillett. Not that many games for Argyle but more made his name in managing Coventry to defeat Spurs in a FA Cup Final. The flying header to score in that game by his player Houchen sticks firmly in my memory. JS got a bum departure from the Coventry owner in the end.

Yes, you are right, Pogleswoody. I recall Peter playing for Southampton, and before that I think he was with Chelsea.
Maybe it was partly because of the loss of his Dad (as above) but John seemed a guy who liked to enjoy life and realised that football wasn't everything and not to be taken too seriously.
Do you know what? he was right!
Excellent company with lots of great stories told with a smile.

R.I.P. John. I was exiled in Coventry in 1987 and managed to get a Cup Final ticket. His celebrations after the game still raise a smile.
