I would think Outland Road sees thousands of vehicles a day, plus the Park and Ride.

Outland Rd does indeed see thousands of cars every day. I’d imagine there’d be multiple pile ups every day too if drivers were trying to peer through the trees and across the car park to try and make out what is on a board on the back of the stand.

The board is only really going to be seen clearly by ‘repeat’ viewers - i.e. the same people walking their dogs or using the P&R, every day. If the object of the exercise is to advertise games, then a static Billboard on Outland Rd is cheaper and 100 times more effective.

Hmmm, I’m not entirely sure that’s a relevant comparison.

I think many are going to be disappointed when the sign does get erected. I was led to believe that its not much bigger than medium size TV, so will not be able to be seen from the road or even the park & ride just those walking by.

Probably because it now seems to be switched off all the time...

...and when it wasn’t switched off it was partially hidden by the Roland Levinsky Building and so only visible to traffic heading up North Hill for a very short timespan.

That screen is capable of delivering moving pictures but the permission to site it there never allowed for this.
