Came on as a second half trialist for Crawley Town yesterday, banged in a hat trick and got man of the match.

GOAL CRAWLEY!
“Trialist” paces forward and lofts the ball over the goalkeeper and into the net.

CRAWLEY HAVE FIVE!
“Trialist” with a brace here in a superb showing in this second-half.

TRIALIST MAKES IT SIX!
Wow. What a strike into the top corner.

Just the thing to do when you're after a contract. Well done Alex and good luck.

Very interesting, Bob.
I think he was very unlucky at Argyle. He had an excellent goal scoring record through the Academy, favourably comparable with Luke Jephcott.
Released just before Ryan Lowe arrived, unfortunately.
It would not surprise me if he became ‘the one that got away’. I even recall an exchange of views with Mark Pedlar a couple of months ago in the Klaidi Lolos thread.
Early days but good luck, Alex!!

Horley of the Southern Combination Football League Premier Division. One might ask whether this club is higher or lower than Saltash Utd in the EF pyramid, just to get a feeling for the standard of playing opposition.

I saw both Alex Battle and Alex Fletcher play a number of times in youth games and in SWPL games against Tavistock. I really didn't feel like they stood out at all. Maybe just coincidence they had bad games when I saw them. Cameron Sangster was always the one who stood out for me. Shame he decided to give it up, but his rare boot business seems to be doing very well!

Irrespective of opposition, the club put him on to do a job and he did it. Hopefully he'll be given a chance against better opposition.

Did well for Crawley on trial, scoring in multiple friendly games, but they still didn’t end up signing him. They’ve just signed Kwesi Appiah, from India, who is formerly of Wimbledon and Crystal Palace. Seems a bit harsh on him.
Surprising has Crawley have a good reputation for bringing along youngsters and the inexperienced. Maybe argyle should look again at this young man, was a bad 'Derek' mistake to let a prolific goalscorer at his level leave in the 1st place.
