I'd go back a little further. Pickford made a very good safe just before Italy scored, re-directing a close-range header away from the goal. If he had deflected the path of the ball just a tiny bit further it would have bounced off the post away from the goal or off the pitch for a corner. Instead it hit the inside of the post and bounced straight back to Bonucci who promptly scored.
Obviously we can play this 'fine margins' game to a ridiculous level for any incident in the game, but Pickford really was very unlucky that is safe did not turn out to be more useful.
