Unbalanced. Midfield is pathetic. Lallana the big omission.

The fact that Livermore and Cook are on standby but Wilshere and Shelvey aren't is baffling.

Southgate clearly prefers his midfielders to run around a lot with no real quality.

Lallana has barely kicked a ball this season and isn't close to fitness, taking him would be a wasted spot....like Jack 'Mr Glass' Wilshire.

Struggling to pick a decent XI from that and it looks so unbalanced.

We've got 3 RBs, 4CBs, 1LB and 1 LW (converted to LB)

Pickford
Stones, Jones, McGuire
Trippier ??

Dier

Alli, Lingard

Sterling, Kane, Rashford

Wilshere has played more games this season than a number of those included in the squad. He's also a very good player and one of the few CM's with real quality on the ball.

Walker and Henderson nailed on to start imo.

My guess would be:

β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”-- Pickford
β€”β€”β€”β€”-- Walker - Cahill - Stones
Trippier β€” Henderson - Loftus-Cheek - Rose
β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” Alli - Sterling
β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” Kane

He is still injury prone Cobi and would be a wasted place. Didn't see of of that famous creativity against Slovakia or Iceland in the last tournament. Arsenal have just come off one of their worst seasons since the Bruce Rioch era so doubt he will still be there next season.

You could argue 3 LBs. Rose, Young and Delph. Delph has played left back for city most of this season. I wouldn't have taken him though!

How many "world class" players in that squad???

Book an early plane home.

The dearth of creativity in the middle of the park is very worrying.
Personally I would have taken a chance with one of Wilshere or Shelvey to at least give us the option of somebody capable of doing the unexpected.

The inclusion of Delph I find very puzzling.

Agreed, but he's started the majority of Southgate's games and captained them. Would be stunned if he didn't start against Tunisia.

Henderson has had a good season tbf and deserves to be in the squad.

Although I'm not sure we'll need 2 holding mids (Him and Dier) against Tunisia and Panama.

That’d be OTT defensive. Hence why I suggested Loftus Cheek will start. Bit of power in midfield and someone to transition defence to attack.
