Defending corners

Indeed Cliveinho. A worrying trend.

Is it that we're just rubbish at getting to the ball first? Or are we getting to the ball first but unable to clear our likes because of the two players pushed up the field? If it's the former, we need to practice defending corners, reconsider positioning etc. If it's the latter a tactical change maybe necessary. I predict the former. More practice and better positioning (including the goal keeper). Whatever the remedy I don't doubt it's being addressed by the coaches. I just hope we see a change in this very worrying deficiency, quickly.

It seems to me its simply a case of the opposition having more tall players than we do. Out of necessity we have some 5'8" players marking against 6' plus. Quite how you get around that problem I'm not sure other than to ensure we score more goals than they do!
