āIām a playersā manager; I feel as though Iām a good man-manager. Iāll give the players everything theyāll possibly need;Ā I'll help them along the way, whether itās family issues, whether itās struggling with form. Because I know, eventually, theyāll give me it back.
āAll Iāll ask for is 100 per cent effort on a Saturday or a Tuesday evening. Thereās a big saying of mine that actions speak louder than words ā just do it, donāt say it.ā
Full interview part 1āIāve spoken to more or less all the players now ā thereās one or two I havenāt been able to catch ā and they are excited. I have told them what we are going to be doing and how we are going to do it.
āWe scored plenty of goals at Bury ā I think it was 105 goals in all competitions. Weād like to keep the backdoor shut a little bit more, if we can, but, with exciting football, thatās what happens and thatās what weāre looking to install.
āThe 90 per cent of the lads that I have spoken to already are excited. They have heard good things about us, and I have said that they will love the training and love the way we are with them."
