Moeen as usual burns brightly before getting out. Buttler and Root doing well, 148/4.

If we go down the normal route of doubling the score after 30 overs then we're looking OK here, need to keep wickets in hand though.

Bit bum-twitchy right now for England: game is finely poised. If we lose another wicket in the next couple of overs - especially if it's Root - then you'd have to say advantage Kiwis.

This situation is exactly what Livingstone 'The Finisher' is in the team for.
We have to get 290 - 300.

Root gone, bowled by the part timer. We are in trouble now.

Woakes and Curran can both bat, but it's a tall order expecting these two to get us over 300.

But, this is England. They've pretty much ripped up the cricketing manual and expectations over the last two years, so who knows what'll happen in the last 5 overs?

Curran gone. 252/9. A poor last 30 minutes from England.

About 20 runs short but 282 is ok. It was looking like we wouldn't bat the full 50 overs but Wood and Rashid got us there.
