Q&A with a Bristol City Fan
Bristol City fan 'Jerseybean' has kindly agreed to a Q&A to give Pasoti users an insight into his club ....

Q: What are your thoughts on the new signings and departures during the summer?
A: Most City fans feared that Alex Scott would depart, although hoped it would not happen just yet, Bournemouth matched our reported Ā£25 m so the deal was done. Other notable departures Kalas and Massengo were anticipated as both were OoC. We have recruited modestly as we look to secure a sustainable and more equitable wage bill. Jason Knight has impressed and his high energy and work rate will I think make him a fanā€™s favourite. Ross McCorie hasnā€™t featured as yet and will be sidelined until the New Year due to a bacterial infection. Rob Dickie from QPR was a solid signing and we added Haydon Roberts from BHA and Taylor Gardner-Hickman (on loan with an option to buy) from WBA both are young and full of potential IMO.

Q: What are your thoughts on your manager Nigel Pearson?
A: Iā€™m a big supporter of NP and overall he has the support of the fan base, heā€™s a good fit for us, his experience and knowledge along with his pragmatic, no nonsense mentality is a welcome change from Lee Johnson who typically spoke in riddles!
NP has laid down sound values and addressed much of the mess he inherited. He is OoC at the end of this season personally Iā€™d love him to stay so he can continue to move us forward.

Q: As ever, money is always a talking point at football clubs ā€“ what is the current financial situation and are you happy with the current owner of Bristol City?
A: We were flirting with a points deduction due to being close to over- stepping the FFP rules, thatā€™s been averted thanks primarily to lots of hard work, restructuring the wage bill, giving our academy players a chance and selling some of our prized assets, Semenyo and Scott both joined Bournemouth.
Steve Lansdown is seeking new investment and he has ploughed a fortune into Bristol Sport over the years. He keeps a low public profile and for some fans there is a sense that we wonā€™t progress further with him at the helm, while others suggest caution and appreciate the massive personal commitment he has made.

Q: What are your expectations and predicted finishing position in the Championship?
A: Hope and expect we will finish in the top half, be pleased with 9th place or above.

Q: Without giving too much away what style of football and formation are Bristol likely to use against Argyle?
A: We are generally a better team / watch away from home where our pace and counter attacking serve us well.

Q: Looking from afar what are your views on Plymouth Argyle?
A: Delighted to have PA in the Championship itā€™s another (almost) derby and for me the more teams in the South West that are doing well the better. However, I havenā€™t seen much of Argyle so donā€™t feel able to say much more.

Q: Finally, do you have a prediction for the game?
A: Expect a tight game which will hopefully finish 2-1 to BC.

I'm driving up, does anyone know if Street parking in Ashton Gate is free? If not, any suggestions for free parking?
There are no realistic free parking options as residents parking zones everywhere (bristol city council is obsessed by them). You can however park for free at Portway Park and Ride and get a bus to the stadium

Edited to add - you could also park for free at the huge Long Ashton Park and Ride which is about a 20 minute walk away - you could get a park and ride bus in but I am not sure they run late enough to take you back so you would have to walk - and you need to be out of the car park by 10.30

A few changes for me - Edwards for Miller, Scarr in for either CB, Warrington for Houghton (just for a rest, done nothing wrong at all), Randell for Cundle

Thanks. I reckon Long Ashton park and ride is the one.
