A statement result!

We better start believing because we look the real deal.

Skill, determination, bodies on the line, blocks, tackles and decision making won us the game.
Not even an early goal conceded knocked us off our stride.
The players didn't panic and were confident enough to get back into the game.

Camara found his shooting boots with two goals and also hit the post and had a couple of shots saved, he was a machine in midfield.

Garrick showed what a valuable player he is becoming by playing as a striker and he did it well, capped by a well taken goal.

Taylor scored an early goal for Oxford, we were a bit slack in defence, Taylor's first thought was to taunt the Argyle fans and then spent the rest of the game receiving it back!

Garrick got us back into the game with a solo goal, he held off the defenders and fired home a low shot into the corner.

Camara smacked a shot against the post but finished off a flowing move to put us in front.

Oxford put us under huge pressure during the second half but a combination of poor finishing and good defending kept the scoreline as one goal conceded.

Mayor replaced Broom and had a hand in the third and killer goal.
Pass and move, pass and move, Garrick left it for Camara who thumped the ball in. 3-1 and game over.
By now the Oxford fans were streaming out of the stadium.

There were fantastic scenes at the end between players and fans.
There really is something brewing, you can see it.
This will go down as one of the great away days.

Man of the Match - Camara.

Cooper 7, Wilson 7, Scarr 8, Gillesphey 7, Houghton 7, Edwards 7, Camara 9, Broom 6, Grant 7, Garrick 8, Jephcott 7. Subs Mayor 7, Galloway n/a, Hardie n/a.

My heart sank when I saw Garrick for Hardy but what a handful he was today. This is his position. Fish out of water at wing back. And to think Ennis and Cooper still to come !
We rode our luck at times but the defence was immense - particularly Scarr who did brilliantly despite being on a card … what a signing.
We now need to get the white kit out for Tuesday night - anything to break the Tuesday night jinx !

Was just waiting for them to equalise first 20mins of second half! But I thought DM coming on with his calmness and playing it to feet turned the tide. Also he took the ball off a players foot just as he was about to pull the trigger! It’s going to be hard to leave anyone out! Hopefully we can start to rest players and rotate just a little bit!

The travelling green army came across well on the tv, it must have been a special away day today. One of those performances and results that really make you think something great could happen this season. Wigan, Sheff Wed and Sunderland with vastly bigger budgets will be tough to beat to the automatic places but it is beginning to look like we will have every chance of pushing them all the way. It is a difficult division this season with besides the aforementioned Ipswich and Pompey adjusting under new managers, Wycombe looking strong and Oxford, Bolton and others capable of making a charge for the leading spots.
Let's hope we don't suffer a backlash from a wounded Bolton on Tuesday and can turn in a good evening performance.
The games can't come quick enough at the moment can they?

Cant wait to watch the game back tomorrow- we are certainly a team of winners

No player that crosses the white line has a weakness - they are so interchangeable, so strong

RL & the management team certainly know what they are doing

The so called big hitters will certainly be paying close attention to us now

It was a great result against a decent side. Whilst I can't stand Robinson, I can see where he is coming from, they really should have capitalised in the first 15 mins of the 2nd half, Henry who is normally a good finisher wasted a couple of very good chances. If they had scored then who knows.
After 10 mins it looked like it could be a long day, Oxford looked slick and inventive, but the first time Garrick ran at them he scared the living daylights out them, from minute 11 to half time we were sensational, Jephers clever and finding space, Garrick quick and Fleet footed, Houghton calm and assured, Camara everywhere and Grant always available. We looked a very good side. Mayor made a big difference when he came on and had a big hand in the 3rd.

When you can bring on Galloway, Mayor and Hardie, you know things are looking up.
