Well, as it is all quiet on the Just Back, Brief Synopsis front. Here goes.

First twenty minutes we were under the cosh. We couldn't get a pass in edgeways and the Dons (the real ones), were very menacing from a series of freekicks and corner kicks, particularly with their very tall centre back winning headers at the far post.

Cooper made some good saves, but was also (almost at the same time) at fault for some very poor clearances.

At the other end, following a scrappy piece of play, Wilson got a stab at goal from about 7 yards which was cleared off the line.

The Dons shaded the first half but all to play for in the second. Half Time 0 v 0.

The second half started with a bang, Camera passed back to Wilson who was about twenty yards in his own half at the right back position, he whacked it forward and Hardie made a positive run, beat the defender, beat him again and both the defender and the goalie ended up on their backsides whilst Hardie tapped it into an open goal. Cool and classy.

Still about 43 minutes to go and it was pretty much attach and defend, with the hope we could grab something on the break. Cooper was booked for time wasting on 62 minutes ! Hardie also was booked for the same offence as time was running down to 90 minutes. However the ref, who was pretty carp, (for both sides - and we won but still only give him 2/10), decided to add 8 minutes at the end.

Gritty, blood and snotters performance, but take a bow, it was a good win. Houghton took the eye, but also great efforts by Broom, Galloway and Hardie, but it was a team performance.

Happy Birthday Ryan.

Looking forward to watching it tomorrow

To be under the cosh & not have a rush of blood to the head to stay disciplined says a lot about the characters we have in our team - they do not want to give anything away cheaply

2nd half- Hotdog special & Wimbledon had no reply- very pleasing that we have got to grips with game management & we are turning into a roaring beast with a very tough underbelly

No tummy tickling allowed with this team - i like the new Argyle Beast :D

Torally agree on your report
I mentioned pre season and early league games how resolute we have looked
The wing backs are not as adventures as last season but more effective in the team balance and the experience of Edward's and Grant is crucial to our season so far
The Back 3 CBs have been awsome and this has inspired our young keeper Coops who has been brilliant
It was tough today for young jordan garrick particularly 1st half but with the help of Pan he stuck to the task the best he could given his unfamiliarity with his role
Last word to Ryan H what a cool finish!!!!

Lots of whinging on their official site regarding a lack of protection for Assal. Thought he was a diving cheat myself.

From watching 'live' on ArgyleTV...

That was a tough old game, which the team and the back three in particular came through with flying colours!

It wasn't the prettiest of matches, but we ground out a very impressive win. Early days, but we appear to have learned a lot about what it takes in this league. Impressive!

Cooper 8 - would have been 9 but for his kicking
Wilson 9 - superb
Scarr 8 - solid, Scarr doing what Scarr does best
Galloway 9 - superb and my MOTM
Garrick 4 - looked lost first half, much better second
Grant 6 - ok
Houghton 7 - not his best game, but some crucial interceptions on the edge of our box
Camara 8 - his best game this season imo
Broom 6 - not so involved today but full of energy
Hardie 8 - superb skill for the goal
Jephcott 8 - full of running and a great outlet for the others

A mention for Law - lucky he didn't connect with his 'revenge' tackle. Admire his determination though.

Forza Verdi!!!

For the second game in succession, a fine team performance.
Camara my MoM again for the immense amount of work he got
through in the middle of the field; if he becomes more effective in
the final third, we'll have trouble keeping him.
Garrick looked like a fish out of water in the first half, but stuck admirably
to the task.
The defence is worlds better than last year; as others have said, opposition attacks
don't cause supporter palpitations at the moment.
And what a finish from Hardie; make keeper and defender look stupid, then do it
again for good measure.
Bring on Portsmouth.

I was sat in the home end with the AFC ‘ultras’ 😂, near the Argyle fans - not an experience I’m in a hurry to repeat.

Thought we were really under it for 20 mins and Wimbledon were first to everything, disturbing our rhythm and playing through us. Last season’s Argyle would have been 2-0 down early on. Wimbledon did miss a couple of sitters too.

From then on, we grew into it, without ever really bossing the match. The centre-backs are a revelation and we work so hard throughout the team. Broom, Houghton and Camara all played increasingly well as the game went on. Our front two are looking very confident.

Just a word on the time-wasting - we were at it badly yesterday, so we can hardly complain when other teams do it. Can’t stand it and it’s utterly pointless - simply makes matches 10 minutes longer. Not really worth the yellows for Cooper and Hardie.

Onwards to Pompey.

Just watched the whole game- that was one bad ass ugly win

First 20 minutes the Wombles fully imposed their game plan- we couldnt get to grips with it but we remained calm, resolute & stuck to the task, it certainly was not pretty on the eye but we appeared to be more tactically aware of how Wimbledon would try to hurt us- yes Garrick got done on numerous occasion in the first half but his team mates helped him out when required & we did not lose our heads

2nd half one moment of magic from Hotdog & it appeared Wimbledon had no answer- then we had a masterclass in game management- over 45 minutes of attrition
Wimbledon were terriers on heat but we repelled everything- for all our players to be mentality switched on for that length of time is outstanding- for all the flying tackles, drawing of fouls that Wimbledon engaged in we did not crumble or react- that to me shows the never say die attitude this team has in abundance

Other teams may not like how we go about our business - but if we are to push on - this is the type of game management we need to adopt to get to where we want to get to

Roll on Tuesday - i cant wait :D
