This must be the earliest offer ever. Early bird full season ticket for next season £199 or £8-30 a match, how can they do that ?

Just in time for the January transfer window. Spending today what they'll earn tomorrow.

But, with the wage cap will they be able to use any revenue generated now?

Crowds between 10 and 11 thousand on a regular basis will mean they can reduce their season ticket prices. Can't see their expenditure being much more than us either. Some of their hospitality deals are quite cheap too.

no matt thats how they have been getting crowds of 10 to 12 thousand over the last 3 or 4 years because they have been selling cheap season tickets. they do not make much money on a match day apart from the away support see the crowd when they had to potd in the fa cup against northampton was 2900 odd.

Done some VERY ROUGH calculations on this, assuming we sold 4,500 ADULT green memberships this year that gave the club approx £1,530,000, but I don't how many were white memberships, green+, concessions or under 18's or under 5's so it may be a little more or a little less or it could just balance itself out

With an average gate of around 6,000 that leaves 1,500 potd assuming these 1500 were full paying adults thats another £690,000, a total of £2,220,000.

If we took the approach 11,000 full paying adults paying £199 each for a seson ticket that would be £2,189,000, a deficit of £11,000 this season alone, and as i've just read on another post JB had budgeted for an average of 8000 per game that's another £920,000 deficit a total of £931,000 per season, not for us i don't think.

Maybe with crowds of 11,000 every week it could turn Home Park back into the fortress it once was, and that could only be a good thing.

Heres hoping that my maths is correct :shifty:

sounds like someone at that club has their brain switched on, no chance of that happening at home park.
argyle is a complete rip off im afraid £20 per match POTD is FAR too much money.
there is a recession on.

wether they own the ground is irrelevant, they are at least getting bums on seats. what are we doing ? Sod all.

They sold 7000 full season tickets plus 1400 'flexi cards' which only give a discount per match. That means they have around 2000 POTD every game plus those that buy the reduced tickets with their flexi card. They also have big commercial deals with large companies like Carling and the co-op plus a ground sponsorship. Their income is definitely much larger than ours, hence the much cheaper ST prices.

They don't own the ground Chris, and with a lot of the seats and back areas of VP very rarely in use, they probably aren't paying anywhere near as much as they were in the prem in terms of maintenance.

Wasn't it just last season that they were struggling to pay the rent and were very close to moving back to the rugby ground? Can't be working that well for them

I would have thought that November was the best month to launch season tickets. They make great Christmas presents.

The remark about spending next year's income now is irrelevant because next November they will be on sale again.
