Arnasons Throw Ins

Reading the OS Report on today's game the guy Bond, who wrote it, refers to Arni's throws as being 'illegal but potentially lethal'. What is the guy talking about in referring to them as 'illegal'. He has been making long throws since he first signed for Plymouth and I have never seen a referee declare a problem with them.

I was there and they were very lethal, caused a lot of problems....

The guy Bond you mention is referee Darren Bond. It was more than likely written by Rick Cowdrey or Chris Parsons.

I see what you mean though: Rotherham’s most potent weapon early on was Árnason’s familiar long throw-ins – still illegal, but still potentially lethal........... Strange one.

I also noticed ARGYLE suffered back to back wins for the only time this revival season on their first visit to the New York Stadium,. I'll put it down to the cold weather up there.

He often seemed to be walking when taking a throw, so maybe he didn't have both feet on the ground?
