The good news is the sewage is pumped direct to SJP in Exeter, hence the extra cost.

If that’s the case we should be charging Exeter some money for improving their city..

The drains issue has been ongoing for a while now, but the management have not been sitting idly by doing nothing as they have been looking into it.

If the costs keep escalating any more the board might just have to pull the plug on the project.

I do not enjoy reading it but it may well have been a condition of the planning approval, a bit like planning gain. I have seen large developers building 5,000 houses having to provide a new junior school or the cash equivalent. It is the way of local government these days, where they are short of cash to provide the facilities wholly themselves.

This for me. Normally there is a requirement to put something back into the area (parks, schools etc).

But 750K.... we could have used that to buy 1.5 Steve Macleans!

So, can we just clarify that the cost of this drainage work is about £335k (1/3 of a million) and not £750k as the title head suggests? If so, perhaps the title needs changing.
