A quote from SH interview with the 'erald.

How much of an impact will that have?

We will see. As everybody knows we are looking for a new investor, so when we think about it now we have to have four budgets - we have to have a Championship budget with a new investor, a Championship budget without a new investor, a League One budget with a new investor and a League One budget without a new investor.

We can't say at the moment. The goal will be, as we have said since the beginning of this season, to find a new investor who is going to help us push further up the Championship than we are at the moment
That four budgets bit rather sounds more than just we are open to investors. Don’t want to read too much into it, but it feels like there might at least be active discussions with potential investors.

I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a club and its staff call out a former manager as much as we’re currently calling out Ian Foster. We really are doing some considerable damage to his future prospects. I’m not saying it’s right or wrong, it’s just not something you see often.

Not watched the Argyle TV version yet, just a quick read of the Herald summary.

Interesting and worth noting that he said the more toxic the support gets, the less likely they are to do something and that the Dewsnip conspiracists are basically talking rubbish.

Very well timed and honest as ever from Mr Hallett. Let's just be careful what we wish for.

The Herald summary is actually a different interview entirely, so the Argyle TV version is also worth a watch.

He is still learning his trade. I expect he has learnt a lot in his time at Argyle. Reading between the lines especially in man management and PR.

For me, there are two theories to the Foster hire and how it went so wrong.

1. The theory that eventually we are all promoted to a level of incompetence. IF may be a great coach but lack the additional skills required to manage a football club (media, interpersonal skills not related to football) and he was out of his depth and his response was to lash out and be spiky to hide his own insecurity.

2. The way he speaks and behaves to those above him is very different to how he treats those below him. I’m sure we all know of a manager who was nice as pie to the big bosses but treats his reports like 💩 when they are not around.

In either case, players will not have been impressed and lost respect very quickly. At least he’s gone now.

What he said in the article

“We have got at least two I know about that are possibles, one of which is quite a strong possibility, and there is a couple more I'm going to get briefed about today (Tuesday)."

Well yes and no. Maybe there is some truth to the fact that a lot of what’s been said about Dewsnip is crap but by his own admission he had a lot of say in the appointment of Foster which turned out to be a really poor call. Secondly by his own admission the chairman left it too late when removing Adams even though the fans could see it had gone badly wrong some time before he went. It’s a balancing act but digging your heels in and refusing to acknowledge the fan’s criticism when it’s clear things had to change is a fine line to walk.

The past two days have shown what great characters we have at Argyle. I just sat and watched the interviews with SH, Dan Scarr, Joe Edwards and Nance, and wow, goosebumps!

Totally agree. If we stay up, I actually think the Foster era could be turned into a positive (albeit not financially), in that it's made us even more aware of the things that make the club special. And doubly careful not to make the same mistake again.

He's also saying he wants thre crowd to singing and loud but don't tell me what to do.

Great interview.

It sounds like we cut out the cancer but not before it had already caused some damage.
That is not the nicest analogy I have ever read, and I would imagine it is far removed from anything Simon Hallett would say - or even think.

I’m not putting words in anybody’s mouth, MM, and certainly not implying that SH was of the same view.
