Perhaps what you need to do is realise that he is finished as a player before you give him the contract to sign!?

One of the greatest players the game has ever seen, probably in a top 3 with Pele and Messi, I feel almost privileged that I got to see him live a couple of times, but I can’t help but deny that that the way things are coming to end is extremely sad and disappointing, and that is because of the decisions that he’s made.

He's 38 and still has two years left on his contract with Al-Nassr worth a reputed €200million a year. He's a shadow of his former self and failed to set the world alight in a league which is hardly comparable to any top-flight European division. Nobody will want to sign him. Well, maybe PSG: they're the only ones left bonkers enough to do so.

Can't see that happening. Lorenzo Insigne holds the record for the biggest contract for an overseas player in the MLS, and that was a "modest" $15million a season. CR would have to take a 70-odd percent pay-cut and an MLS team to blow Insigne's record out of the water for there to be a deal. But I can't see Ronaldo taking such a paycut: if he did then a lot more clubs in Europe would be interested in signing him.

He's too high maintenance even for a club with unlimited money that has bent over backwards to accommodate him. I really can't see any other club taking him on those wages knowing what his character is like.

A shame as he could have moved back to Portugal after Man U, maybe a return Sporting or Nacional, probably scored plenty of goals and finished things off nicely. Instead he followed the money despite probably already being loaded.
