Plymouth Argyle Transfer Rumour Round-up

I've just caught up on this thread over a coffee as I don't tend to read the rumours too much. We get nothing in rumours since Bathing Apes days
I like the way this group of custodians of our club go about their business. No one has a clue what is going on apart from the people in the know and that's the way it should be.

We will sign what the management team think we need, within the budget we have and the season will tell us how that recruitment went.

Including the competition for our transfer targets.
Do you really believe that just because snippets aren't on Pasoti, facebook or twitter, football clubs don't know what other clubs are up to?
Player agents will literally tell all interested parties 'Lincoln are offering £3400 a week, a 2 year deal, can you better that?'
Lincoln don't need to read the Evening Herald trying to work out what Argyle are doing in order to muscle in on a signing or two.
Almost every signing that happens in League One this summer, every other club will have assessed the data, been aware of their contract status, reviewed the decision to sign them and the finances involved.
In the book Journeyman by Ben Smith, he said he and his agent used to forward a copy of his CV to every club in the lower leagues every time his contract was up for renewal. A good agent will get his client noticed and drive up the highest price - if Argyle are interested in any player, most of the other similar sized clubs will be completely aware of it before it is finalised.

Looking forward to seeing who walks through the door- these players would have ticked all the boxes & certainly will not be k******ds
No doubt we will get the underwhelmed comments from some quarters before a ball is kicked in anger but the management team know what they are on with & the players we sign are there because they want to be there

Or perhaps because nobody else wants them?

any ideas where Dom Telford is going? Had a few injuries here but every time I watched him I thought he was excellent. Without injuries last season and scored goals for fun. If it wasn't for us having so many options in that area I would have liked us to be in for him... especially on a free

That was a good read. If nothing else, it showed our touchlne view of Steve Evans is surprisingly accurate.

Maybe a few left field signings to overcome this. Time will tell, better not to bring anyone in if they don't improve on what we have, blood the youth if we have to and get loans and wait for Jan window.
I read Jan Window as if it was a name and was thinking ‘who is this guy? Sounds Swedish/Norwegian’ 😂🫢
