It depends on how good his researcher is. Do you really think pundits do any background homework?

BTW I really like Wrighty. True England great and salt of the earth type legend.

Indeed. Will be the same as Jamie Redknapp (for example) being a pundit on Burnley v Norwich. He’ll be talking based on the info the researcher has provided him with

another Ian Wright fan here - passionate and quite clear he loves football - his knowledge of Argyle may be limited but I am sure he will be generous in his praise - rather have him than Holloway

I'm old enough to remember him playing for Palace at Home Park. Him and Mark Bright were a class above. You had to be impressed

No other Palace player has scored more than 3 league goals (in total) against Argyle in 100 years. These two have nine between them.

He might surprise us. Wright came through Sunday League football and semi pro and was discovered late in life for a pro footballer. Not sure if he has kept in touch with lower league football but he has always been pretty humble.

Let's not forget where Wrighty came from. he isn't a Prem. Academy boy! I saw him play for Greenwich Borough and he played against us several times for Palace (and was way too quick for us!).

Maybe he'll surprise us. Just say what you see Ian!
