Here is my updated visualization of the "finish line". The red line is our points compared to fourth place. One point above fourth place at the end of the season and we go up, or, 13 points above fourth place with four games to go and . . . well you get it. So the green line is the "finish line" - cross it and we are up. The blue line is last season.

Luton have to win at Mansfield on Monday otherwise Argyle are promoted but if we win or draw one more game then their results makes no difference to us whatsoever.
In fairness to OG, it's always been acknowledged that the table doesn't take account of the "real world" wherein teams play each other and thus make many outcomes impossible. It just shows where 24 individual teams could theoretically still finish if each one of them won all their remaining games, and also where they might still finish, and could no longer finish, if they lost them all.oddball":1jbdrfce said:

Similarly, Notts County could still finish on only 53 while Newport could amass 54 (huh!), putting Notts down along with, in all likelihood, Orient. Oddball, OG's useful table presents no problem at all. It is very clear what it does & doesn't do, & is much appreciated by, seemingly, many, certainly me.
Please stop trying to "create" a problem where none exists, and especially when a fellow Green goes to so much effort to make a positive contribution to this board & the benefit of its users

There could well be teams who have occupied play-off places for some time who could dip out at the final stage and others who sneak there way in at the last minute. I wouldn't like to be in that battle this season.
