It won't happen but I would like to see a back three and wing backs.
Edwards, Songo'o and Bradley as the back three, Threlkeld as the right wing back and Sawyer or ATS as the left wing back. I think Sawyer is the best crosser of a ball in the squad.

Fox and Diagouraga in midfield and Carey floating behind two strikers - which is the whole point of this set-up: to give the team two strikers.

The down side is that our many wide players, Grant, Wylde and Ainsworth, and Sarcevic won't get a place in the team

Actually, would absolutely go with this team. We need 2 strikers until Taylor is back, then we could revert to 4-1-2-3 perhaps. The pace of Grant, Wylde and Ainsworth could be damaging off the bench.
