Am looking forward to this. Am a close friend of the Little family, Graham is writing notes this week as he has more time for stories this time round!

Will be nice to attend something and hopefully discuss other things than the HHP development!

Just bumping up one last time to say you'll be able to come along and buy a ticket at the door tonight. As well as an entertaining evening of memories and things to see, there's a bar and also a chance to win a framed home shirt from this season, signed by the full squad.

Go on, you know you want to!

It was a pleasure to listen to Graham this evening. From Paul Mariner, to Jimmy Greaves, from Elton John to Ken Bates. Signings, sackings, Dan McCauley, Ellis Stuttard etc etc. I think he'd still be going now if it weren't for the fact that the bar staff had to go home. Thank you Graham.

To use a football cliche, Graham was on top form last evening, looking in remarkable health and sporting a green sweater, you could have heard a pin drop! He had us all spellbound with his recollection of life as Argyle's Club Secretary.
Also good to see Martin Starnes there.
Well done PAHC for organising the event.

A wonderful way to spend an evening. Some of the inside stories were fascinating.

Loved the Matt Busby story!

A true gentlemen and what a memory!

Well done for those who arranged it.

The amazing story was Paul Mariner. West Ham agreed a fee of £200k, the papers were signed by both clubs and placed in the safe until Monday morning. In comes Tony Waiters and told GL that the deal was not done and he agreed a money and player exchange for Mariner from Ipswich.

West Ham reported Argyle to the league for that one!!

I remember this deal well. In my opinion it spelt the beginning of the end for Tony Waiters at Home Park. It appeared that he was acting in Paul Mariner's interest as opposed to that of Plymouth Argyle. Apparently Mariner wanted to go to Ipswich but Ipswich could not afford a cash only deal so they threw in two players. One was a centre forward who I thought was a carthorse and no way would Waiters have signed him in normal circumstances. The other was a defender who was a half decent player but had suffered a fractured skull whilst playing for Ipswich. He never fully recovered and he had to retire from the game after a far too short Argyle career. Ipswich at the time were managed by a well known Manager who is no longer with us. There are people who believe he stitched Argyle up over this transfer.

That'll be John Peddelty and Terry Austin. Both ok players. It was Peddelty that was forced to retire.
