Your top 3 albums

An almost impossible task. As someone who only plays full albums and has over 4500 in his collection and can listen to anything from The Carpenters to Slipknot the choices are many.

Growing up with much less availability, all of which I still frequently play, it would have been
Rainbow - Rising
Rush - 2112
Deep Purple - Machine Head

Currently the albums I play the most are

Porcupine Tree - Deadwing (could have been any of that, In Absentia or Fear Of A Blank Planet)

Genesis - Selling England By The Pound ( if pushed probably my all time favourite album, all time track in Firth Of Fifth with Steve Hackett’s solo in the track probably the best section of any track ever.)

Avenged Sevenfold - Nightmare (very apt on an Argyle forum as its a bit of an away game ritual to put this going around Taunton on the way home)

Over the years I have had many current favourites in no particular order

Iron Maiden - Powerslave
Queensryche - Operation Mindcrime
Avantasia - The Scarecrow
Dire Straits - Love Over Gold
Green Day - American Idiot
Within Temptation - The Heart Of Everything
Joe Bonamassa - Dust Bowl
Beth Hart - Bang Bang Boom Boom
Shinedown - Amaryllis
Metallica - Master Of Puppets
Dream Theater - Black Clouds & Silver Linings
Nightwish - Endless Forms Most Beatiful

Could name so many more that I return to play frequently but there’s a few to go on with

As others have said, it's nearly impossible to select just 3, but I'll have a try!
Having very varied taste doesn't make this easy, but over the last few decades, I'd be hard pressed to look past these 3:

The Smiths - The Queen Is Dead
Prefab Sprout - Steve McQueen
Sade - Love Deluxe

For any 'Love' fans on here, I saw them perform the whole of Forever Changes accompanied with horns and strings at Shepherd's Bush Empire last night. It was fantastic and the venue was sold out, so the classic 60s psychedelia lives on!

I also ended up in a pub near the venue before the gig surrounded by QPR fans as they'd just had a pre-season friendly. Pleasant fans and we had a chat about THAT 2003/04 season and a few of them seemed pretty confident about their chances this season.
Gonna see them at The Stables in Milton Keynes on Wednesday (tomorrow) !!! Should be good!

I must admit I’m stuck in a bit of a music time warp. So, I’m taking the opportunity to have a listen to some of the artists and albums mentioned here but I’ve not heard before with a view to extending my rather narrow Spotify playlist.

Oh great! I'll be seeing the Bristol and Cardiff gigs later this week.

Enjoy!
They were great last night - played all the best songs, and enjoyed themselves, as did we!
Think the horns and strings may have been just for the Shepherd's Bush gig cos they weren't there last night.
That didn't detract from our gig though - Johnny did his guitar hero bit, and all the musicians were superb!!

Oh cool, I also saw that Robert Plant was in attendance again at Milton Keynes, as he was in Birmingham earlier on in the tour. He's still a big fan of Love.

Glad you enjoyed it. I'm setting off to Bristol soon for tonight's gig at the Fleece.
