Just been reading about the number of objections submitted regarding the planned development of homes on the Windmill carpark site, and I'm left with a question:
I wonder how many people submitted these objections because they want this 'solution' to the problem of parking issues to remain, but have more than one 4-wheeled vehicle?
Surely these people understand they're adding weight to the problem they expect everyone else to offer concessions for, no?
Like them types who moan about traffic when they're sat in it, the mirrors reflect more than they think.
I'm not condemning households with more than one large vehicle, I'm simply suggesting they shut their noise about problems they contribute to.
I live in the narrows of Prince Rock - every street is essentially 'Parking-like-a-prick Street'.
Narrow houses, but there are so many people with 2 vehicles, 3, 4, 5, even one family with 6 vehicles who get proper salty if anyone dares park in front of their house. There are also the 'Kings' who park in the middle of enough space for two vehicles and then swagger around smugly and one couple who try intimidating anyone who parks outside their house despite how readily they'll park their second car anywhere they want.
I drive one car, a very small car, because I have no need for anything bigger and I'm not so pathetic that I think a big car of any value less than a Bentley reflects any kind of status worth boasting about.
The aforementioned losers are utterly pathetic - particularly the latter soppy mug who lives in the same street as Daddy and Brother so thinks he owns the street.
Anyway, I digress, I'm just fed up with hearing other motorists whinge about everything to do with using, what is essentially, a luxury mode of transport. If it's that much of a problem, then walk, cycle or bus/train it. Don't be thinking you're so ruddy important and special that people will judge you, get over yourselves and get off the pedestals you've placed yourselves on.
As for parking, if you don't own or rent the land and have no permit to park there, then your nimby whingeing is of no merit.
Regards the Windmill carpark - it's an abhorrent joke that such a large carpark should be so near a pub anyway as it's too tempting for the sacks to drink-drive.
Anyhoo, rant over - 'Tough' is the word.
