Will Evans - He's ours (7th August 2026)

Tolaj is a good player and is a sharp shooter given half a chance, excellent at this level. Time will tell whether he lives up to the billing that you and others have given him when faced with better quality defenders. In the meantime, as you suggest we need to move on. Evans looks like a good signing and we currently have two other strikers who have shown they can get amongst the goals.

Thing I like about Evans is he appears to want to be here !

Like others I saw Will as a wide left option especially if we play 4 3 3 but if Tom, Derek and see him as leading the line as a number 9 then fair play, go smash it.

Don’t mean to single you out Andy as, as you said, there are plenty of others, but why did you (or anyone else that cares to answer) think he was brought in as a wide left option?

In the last three seasons he’s played 94 games as a striker and 13 on the left (according to transfermarkt).

I think at least some of the disappointment about this signing is due to people having the wrong expectations of the sort of player he is. He’s a number 9, Tom and Derek see it that way, and I think he’ll be a great addition!

I wonder if the club could run a free week at the start of the start of the season as I am sure if it's good it would get more subscriptions maybe one for the fans forum which I know is after the season starts but still an idea to increase revenue a little

That's a fair point tbh. But most free trials come with a sign on you have to delve deeper than a Cornishmans pockets to stop. Good shout though

I will say it's worth every penny for me. I did get my head in my arse when Charlie was hooked but have calmed down now and subscribe monthly.

Not one to know much about opposition players but my point of reference was his game against us last year when he played left of the front three.

Give it a go see and what you think. I really like it and I’d be surprised if you didn't. I cast it from my phone to my TV or watch on my laptop. Has some interesting features and behind the scenes stuff. There’s no contract.

I’m confident that Tolaj will be a force in the Championship. He’s a fantastic player who was far too good for Argyle in League One. The question is whether he can go a step higher again.

This Evans fella is a more realistic proposition for Argyle at the moment. But its like trading in a Ferrari for a Honda Prelude.

But Tolaj spent 10 (?) Games injured and a few suspended.

Appreciate its a small win but Evans partnered with Bim or Owen may actually be more productive. He has better physical attributes (faster and taller), an incredibly good injury record and actually scored more goals than Tolaj at L2 level.

His ceiling is no where near as high as Lorent's, I think he will play at the top level in Europe at some point, but Evans may just be a better L1 player.

I'm optimistic. I think it is a cracking signing.

With the utmost respect to Tolaj, who is without doubt a terrific player, we all wish him every success for the future. However, he has moved on and, in my opinion, so should we.

I think it’s important that we stop comparing him with the players currently in our squad. They deserve the opportunity to establish themselves in their own right, and I’m sure they will receive the full support of the supporters.

Ultimately, players come and go, but our support for the club and those wearing the shirt should remain constant

I’m really puzzled as to why some people are viewing the fact that we’ve signed a proven and an experienced League One goalscorer as a bad thing.

I don't think he's even been signed for his goals, we have goals in the team. He's needed more to provide link up play and aerial threat. I'm quite happy with this.
