So there are 12 games left, a quarter of the season, we are 6 points away from a play-off position and 10 points away from relegation.

Where do you think we will finish?

The last time we had a run of the mill season where we were not pushing for promotion or battling against relegation was in 2013/2014 where we finished in 10th place in League Two, 11 points away from the play-offs and 10 joints from relegation.

With our threadbare patched up squad i have gone for 16th to 20th
Each game left will be the "hokey cokey" of in & out & square pegs in round holes as Tom looks for players that have enough in the tank to last a game

Our ever growing injury list will dictate our finishing position

I think we will be 7th-10th place. With a vaguely fit squad i think we would hit the play offs but we can only assume the current injury crisis will continue to leave us short.

I think 11th -15th represents a bit of a miracle given:
The summer recruitment..some players have had miracle turnarounds in performance levels, some still aren't really the level required for anything like a promotion push.
The refereeing, which has been, yet again, abysmal and cost us more points than it has gained us.
And mostly, the injuries, which are to an abnormal degree and need investigation.
Cleverley made some strange formation and personnel decisions earlier on, but now he's really working with two hands tied behind his back.

I'd throw 2020/21 in there as a more recent example - we were all but safe with 5 games to go (and mathematically safe with 3 to go). With 3 games left of 2013/14, we were still in with a shout (albeit a slim one) of a playoff place.

Will depend on Tom's ability to manage a depleted squad. What I'm seeing is a manager who can manage a fit and first choice XI but when injuries kick in (....and I admit they have been bad) he struggles to find a way to get a scrappy point or win. Something he'll need to improve on going forward.... 😉!!

Injuries have ruined our momentum.
But considering where we were back in November even that high a finish would be a success.
But the club must push on next season. Trim the squad and keep recruiting proper footballers like Mitchell and Curtis.

Before the season started there was a similar poll and at that time I went for 7-10th.

Looking at the situation now, we could still do that if the injury list doesn't get worse and we get a reasonable number of the injured playing again soon. But I am not confident of either of those happening so will go for 11-15th this time around.

Yeah, we learned how to do that in December (was how our turnaround in form started), but seem to have forgotten it again. Then we were managing to keep the game tight, yesterday we looked so open. Not just down to Cleverley, of course, but maybe he needs to look again at how we were setting up then.

At that point, December, we were trying to stop the rot and in a relegation battle. Now we are trying to be expansive as we have to win to have any chance of play offs.

Our injuries will put paid to our play off chances. Anyway, in all honesty, does anyone think we’d survive in The Championship if we crept up via Wembley? I really don’t.

I think we’ll end up mid-table and there are two ways of looking at that. Failure, as we’ve rarely looked like a top six budget side, or an achievement because of the aforementioned injuries and the awful start we had.
