Depends what our squad looks like at the end of August. Won't get an inkling of what sort of season we're going to have until we're 10 games in.
My instinct is we need points on the board fast, to give the team confidence, and Rooney. Also how far are we competing in our matches? Last season we played good football and didn't look out of place. Need that to happen this season too.

My hope is that we'll manage a few places higher than 21. Anything above 18 would be a fantastic achievement.

With a new Manager and a stable set up, keeping most of our players and bringing in some exciting options, I think we can be confident of an improvement on last year’s disrupted season. I think this team is very capable of a mid-table position and this would lay a platform for the future. Anything is possible, but I have a feeling that the club as a whole, including us as supporters, need to consolidate and re-build our confidence and unity. Excited to see what some of our home grown talent like Freddy can do under Rooney and also what some of these new lads like Cissoko and TJ can bring. COYG.
What makes you think this team is so much better than last season's? I dont think the club's unity needs rebuilding at least. A bit more quality needed for me before I'd be more confident of finishing outside bottom 3

Relegation wouldn't be at all surprising given the lack of investment so far and the eccentric choice of manager, but I'd be absolutely delighted to be proven wrong.

Another narrow escape from relegation would be a very good season - and I do think we'll pick up another couple of big scalps again. It would be so funny if we messed up Leeds' season on the last day, especially if we have something to celebrate.

At this moment, l see similar pattern to last season under Schuey.

Very decent going forward, creating opportunities but unless Argyle get a couple of real quality defenders in l believe the openness of this formation will be exposed.

I believe for many of us, who can enjoy the football not simply based on winning, then l expect us to enjoy the emphasis of attack minded play we hopefully will see. However, l imagine it will be no difference to last season as after a defeat people won't look beyond if the system & style has some merit to give us belief.

That's not to say Rooney gets a free pass from me, lm just prepared to be patience and give him this season to see if he can implement an enjoyable style for us to watch.

But l think it's very much still backs to the wall mode in order to survive because we competiting against teams who have some outstanding playing options in their squad . Sheffield Utd for example, my be having financial difficulties but 2 weeks ago they still signed Kieefer Moore. That's just shows how ridiculous the financial gap is at present. We just got to focus on closing it.

I think at this moment 19th-20th given our recruitment at this point and that l have factored in that in all liklihood we shall lose Cooper in this window.

16 so far reckon we’re going to get relegated. Give your bleddy heads a wobble.

We could certainly use more quality in defence and central midfield - no argument with that. What I said, though, was that more stability throughout the season would give the players we have now a better platform to improve our season outcome from last year.

Not unexpected given last seasons finish, lack of any real investment in Championship quality players and a manager still to prove himself. The loans and freebies may turn out to be gems but we need to see them in competitive action first. More bizarre for me are the 10 voting for 10th and above - really...?!

I’m one of them I’m afraid. Of course I don’t want us to go down, and it won’t stop me from giving the team full support. But it’s just a feeling, based on how we rode our luck after shuey left, I felt the squad needed more strengthening than we have.

There’s still time of course. Ask me again in three weeks time.

Equally we might be down by Christmas. I’ll be holding a relegation party if you fancy coming?

I think it will be more difficult this season without the momentum from winning the league. We have to have a stronger squad and more forward options. I think we are well on the way to seeing that but another strong defender and another creative midfielder are still needed with no doubt several current squad players sold or loaned out to make room.
A good start will be important I feel and take some of the pressure off Rooney. I think we will just about be OK and so will go for 16th to 21st.

The current lack of investment in the squad is a concern to me as well, if we dont bring in more quality I fear that relegation will be difficult to avoid. At present we need more in every department except goalkeeper and he is on his way. I really hope we have more coming in and if needs be some of the less championship quality players leaving to make way for them.

Hopefully the players we have secured on season long loans will not be recalled by their respective clubs in January- what happened last January with Finn & Cundle shows you cannot take the signed loan contract for granted

I can't believe we won't bring in a quality right-sided central defender, maybe two and a defensive midfielder. Then there's (probably) the issue of replacing Michael Cooper. Finally and not least, the Rooney question. I've been happy to be swept along with the tide of belief in Rooney, but the doubts remain. If we can fill the gaps in the squad I think around 13-17th is possible. At the moment optimism feels like the best policy but a solid start will be very reassuring.
