What does the Argyle Board do?

The whole football background is nonsense. A lot have been here for 5 years plus, that’s experience. Richard Holiday for example was part of the Brent era. Derek and David are football people also.

All the ones that were on the board when we won League 1 are doing exactly the same as they did then.
Interesting that no one asked what they did then.

I was asking a genuine question, I wasn’t having a pop at them. How can people be judged when nobody knows what exactly they do?

Without a doubt.

He's worried about who buys it to be fair to him, buy he should get rid and enjoy his later years, without all the stress.

His other 'problem' is he's so so proud of what he has achieved and so he should be.

Which is why he should fully sell up before he ruins it all in my opinion. He should be remembered as our greatest Chairman so far. I fear the longer he stays, the less regard he will be held in.

Richard Holliday - Knows football clubs, Charlton fan (maybe ex) attends most games. Decent bloke.
John Morgan - Simons 'eyes and ears'. Attends home games but very few away. Nice man, not football savvy.
Jane Chafer - Senior Marketing Executive. About five games a season I reckon. Lovely lady.
Paul Berne - Supports Oldham, an accountant, and of course sending callous E mails. Always pleasant.
Nick Gionatti - No idea, collects football clubs like baseball cards. Always willing to talk, never makes sense.

So the median PASOTI member would qualify in the personality stakes.
As someone who is not savvy and never makes sense, where do I apply?

Who, apart from Gianotti (I think), has a financial stake?

I'm guessing the less walleted members of the board are expected to add value in other ways, whether it be expertise in marketing, running businesses, or football industry knowledge. Passion for Argyle should be assumed.
By and large, we've been fortunate since the Brent takeover, relative stability in the boardroom, and baring 2 or 3 massive clangers (2 managers spring to mind) decision making & custodianship has been sound in my view. They're human beings, they're not going to get everything right

They cannot outvote SH.
What do they do, i believe none of them have any football background?
Do they provide any financial coffers to the club?
Do they pay for their tickets to all Argyle games home and away?
Do they pay for their meals and refreshments?
Who are the board members (They used to be posted on the PAFC page but i cannot find it now)
I also cannot find the Argyle staff list either or were they all let go as well????
That paying for tickets and meals/refreshments stuff reminds me of Dan McCauley😃

It’s not the change in results which is an issue. It’s the apparent collapse of our financial position

I don’t really see the issue here. The club seems to be cutting back on everything to make sure we have a ‘similar’ footballing budget to last season. It’s not really a collapse, it’s just belatedly recognising our relegation and hugely reduced income. The alternative to making big cuts is just to plough on regardless and continue to make enormous losses which is what most clubs seem to do. Personally I’m glad the club is trying to bring down costs while protecting the first team budget as far as possible.

We shall see how much of the first team budget is protected! I suspect any player sales will mainly service the debts.
