Just a thought on reading habits. Unless I have 5 or 6 books waiting to be read, I feel quite worried. The thought of not being able to pick up a book at any time is beyond the pale for me. All my children are the same.

I've got about 40 unread books on my Kindle (I have a habit of buying books which interest me when they appear on offer) plus dozens more non-fiction proper books which I've never gotten around to read, so I've always got something to pick up myself.

Just finished Killing Thatcher, a book about the Brighton bombing. It’s incredible. Like reading a thriller. Now onto the autobiography of Stephen Morris from Joy Division/New Order
I’m half way through this Thanks to your recommendation. Utterly engrossing. There’s a book called Say Nothing by Patrick Radden Keefe which is being turned into a documentary. It’s also a true story and just as compelling.

I’ve read that and would thoroughly recommend it!

Thanks for this. Halfway through the first of the series, and it’s brilliant.
Glad you like it. I haven't read his Stranger Times series yet so may try that next....not really my thing but I have three weeks coming up in Australia and Thailand so I will need some reading matter ....

Just read Precipice by Robert Harris while on holiday. It begins in 1914 with the developing Irish Independence struggles and the lead up to WW1, is based on hundreds of letters sent by Asquith, who was Prime Minster at the time, to his lover. Much of Asquith's behaviour is quite shocking. Asquith was the last ever Liberal Party Prime Minister, and I am not surprised. I could imagine a similar book about Johnson in the future.
Now reading Dance, Dance, Dance by Haruki Murakami.

If you like sports autobiographies then I have just finished Andy Morrison's "The Good, the Mad and the Ugly". Got it on Kindle for next to nothing.

Just started Jimmy Whites "Second Wind" also on kindle and is really good as well.

Both books are of two "rogues" but excellent sportsmen. They have both led a life.
