Well just a few days to go

Almost there, only a few days to go, before the kickoff of our season, away at Sheffield Wednesday.
How are we all feeling?
Remember whatever the result, there will be another 45 games to play.
If we WIN, don't get carried away, it doesn't mean we are going to win the League.
If we lose, don't get carried away, it doesn't mean all doom & gloom, either.
It's is one game, on a long road.
Enjoy the ride, it will hopefully be a smooth ride, though there will be some potholes, for sure.
ENJOY IT ALL - COYGs.

Can't wait for the season to start
New HC with new ideas it seems
With lack of pre-season viewing due to streaming issues i have no idea what i will be seeing when i switch the TV on next Sunday afternoon
All the hype regarding who our HC is over - we switch to "we mean Business Mode"
46 games of blood, sweat, tears & surprises is coming

The transfer window has been so painfully slow that most clubs are probably still some way off completing their squads. I expect a lot of Championship clubs are waiting on the Premier League gravy train to return to the UK so they can pick off the best youngsters on loan. As a result, the first 5-10 games of the season are probably not going to be indicative of how the campaign will play out.

In our case, we still have a massive hole to fill in the creative part of our midfield. Finn's shadow still looms large over HP and we desperately need a player like him to come in or else I see another season of struggle.

I think wr is gonna try and fill that role with young Freddie Wayne has clearly seen something in him

Realist in me says we will lose most of our away games again, so not seeing anything else next week. In fact I reckon we will lose most of our first ten games. It will be all about how the coaching team respond and I am confident we will stabilise through the final months of the year and finish in a higher position than next year. I will however be supporting the team wholeheartedly throughout and definitely not slagging off players or staff. Hopeful but realistic is the order of the day for me.

No chance. Freddie is ready for minutes off the bench but he's still years away from being our main creative force at Championship level.
Freddie's big strength is his pace. Not best utilised as no.10 possibly. Big hole to fill like you say but we would appear also to need a ball winner there unless Polsson can do it. So possibly 2 big holes to fill in a very important area. Quite worrying.

Not sure about losing first 10 games! But we seem quite a long way from finished article

I am hopeful that it will pick up earlier BG, but as I keep banging on about, you can lose over half your games and still finish above the drop. What I am looking for is more draws away, which sort of tells you we can hold our own, which is the best we can hope for rather than a dose of Rotherham Realism!

Excited for the new season but feel we are a bit weaker on paper than we started last season with the championship momentum.
We have a couple of unknowns in Tijani and Cissoko we have high hopes for but we could really do with an Azaz or Cundle player and very surprised we haven't signed a No.10 as yet. Also think we have really missed Kesler-Hayden and Sorinola or Ogbeta really need to step up at full back.
I feel we are 2 or 3 quality players short of where we need to be.

I’m worried about just how hard we will fall. The likelihood that we may have Cooper and Whitaker for just one or two games before those chasing their signatures win and we’re then left until January to replace them makes me feel nauseous. I can’t believe that Rooney looks at our squad and thinks it’s anywhere close to the standard of the Birmingham squad of last season, a squad that gave him just 2 wins in 15 makes me shudder.
We’ve been too reactive in our transfer dealings and the one thing that may have made MC and MW stay would have been to show they would have a better standard of teammate than last season.

Mixed emotions. Excited about a new season under a new coach, looking forward to seeing more of the new guys (only seen Torquay game).

However, after watching highlights of Leeds 2-1 win over Valencia in a pre-season friendly, it has brought me back down to earth with really what we are competing with at this level. I'm concerned about our defensive approach and lack of strengthening in that position.

Rooney and the team have my full backing, but we're in for another long tough season.

I'm really excited and intrigued. I have to admit to being worried too. I've watched 2 of the friendlies live (Torquay - ok and Bristol - disappointing) and highlights for the others. We don't look ready but I'm hoping other team's aren't either. The main concern is the defence and midfield. We look exposed at times and the midfield is short of creativity and running when Randell/Gyabi aren't playing. I think we are going to have to survive on moments until the team and tactics settle. I don't blame anyone it's just a case of transitioning to becoming a Championship side.

The transfer window has been really slow, not just for us, for everyone. I doubt there are many teams who can confidently say that they’re ready to get going next week. I think we could see some pretty wild and wacky scores.
