Any Head Coaches available that know how to make a team defensively durable & not so each to play against
Need to work on keeping the back door shut & doing the basics right
It maybe boring, turgid to watch - but with a sky rocketing goal difference we need to do blood & snotters until the end of the season if we have any change in staying in the Championship

I actually counter-intuitively think the issue is as much going forward and in possession. If we can’t keep the ball and move up the pitch, then we’re going to be under pressure at the back constantly.

Even with the poor away record we looked so well coached and fluid under SS and always capable of creating a chance, that’s no longer the case.

The players have downed tools, this week's double-bill of horror shows has made that clear.

He has to go and it has to happen this weekend. Imagine the pressure on the Oxford game now... the players have just been spanked 10-1 and have been publicly slagged off twice by their gaffer. HP will be on edge, which will just heap more pressure onto the players, and Oxford will be desperate for a win. Lose and we might enter a tailspin that we can't get out of.

I really hope Simon is able to admit he made a mistake. No-one is going to think any less of him if he takes decisive action, but they will if he leaves it too long and we end up adrift.

Do it now, Simon. Tonight. Please.

Football is a results business. We’re not getting results. We’re not learning from mistakes. We’re not improving as a team. Rooney shows a lack of passion on the sideline as if he doesn’t care. Really didn’t want to be calling for his head before Christmas but it’s clear to see he is not a manager/coach at this level. Yes the players aren’t good enough, but we’re the players good enough last season? Schuey still got a song out of the instruments he had to play with!

The recruitment team need looking at too. Way too many poor signings over the past few windows starting with the likes of Saxon Earley & Ben Wayne who can’t get games in League One to the latest round of transfers including Paulson and Ogbetta who wouldn’t get a game in League Two…

Rooney has to go if we stand any chance of staying up

I think so yes. My only concern is who can we attract who is prepared to risk a relegation on their CV? Who can turn this around when we are palpably 5 or 6 Championship level players short?
Form an orderly queue I’d say, because there will be plenty of decent managers out there wanting this opportunity. Even the most pro-Rooney supporter (like me) will be questioning how we go from 6-1 to 4-0 in a week where the manager was demanding a reaction. Changing half the team, when we apparently have an injury crisis, suggests that the management team (not just Rooney) are desperately chasing outcomes. Unfortunately, based upon this game today, at a time when all the talk this week was of a reaction from the players and management, I genuinely don’t see us progressing in the Championship with Wayne Rooney as our Manager. As an Argyle optimist, I so wanted this to work. But I would be so unhappy to see all the hard work of Messrs. Schumacher and co. go down the toilet. We’re better than this. There is still time. If we go down, it has to be with a fight.

The first team is the last thing that the board are interested in but the first team is the main thing that the fans are interested in. We are so misaligned as a football club.

That's rubbish. Under Holloway, we were in the same situation. Probably worse. The board have spent big on players and wages. We're talking £1m+ a year on Mumba and Whittaker in wages alone. They're both earning £10k a week. I've heard Rooney is on £500k a year.

Our wages aren't £5k a week. These lads are on a lot more.

I spoke to a guy the other day who sold Rory Fallon a Porsche when he was here. They did a finance check and he was on £11k a week.

It's not the board not investing.

If we slip into the bottom 3 whilst he is still in the dug out it could be terminal for the rest of the season- our alarmingly bad goal difference does not help the situation if it continues to rack up week in week out
The time is now to pull the plug
January Transfer window is around the corner - who is going to want to sign for a club in free fall embedded in a relegation scrap

Rooney has been dealt a difficult hand by the board and by injuries - but I’d still at least expect the team to play as if they’ve trained together before, to play with a bit of pride, to look semi-competent. I’ve backed him, I’ve defended him, but now I’m not sure.
