England will win their first game and then all the papers will be stating " its coming home" then we will be knocked out in the round of 16, playing rubbish slow grinding pass across the back 4 football.......The USA should be nowhere near football.
I wish the WC would come home.
Did anybody use to watch the annoyingly titled Soccer AM on Sky Sports on Saturday mornings in days of yore? Their most talented presenter, Fenners, used to do a feature called Boston Goals in which he really nailed exactly that kind of ignorant-sounding commentary, variously including cleats, uniform, PK, steal and more. There are quite a few examples on YouTube.
I agree - nothing beat it every Saturday - so my TV stayed off.Nothing beats Soccer AM when Tim Lovejoy and Helen Chamberlain used to host it
Well that would be very correct. The goal-line runs from corner flag to corner flag and not just between the goalposts. The term "by-line" is an invention by our media but no such term is used in Law One, The Field of Play.I remember watching an Australian A league game several years ago where the commentator said 'The ball has just gone over the goal line for a corner'.

During the World Cup bid Chamberlain bigged up Argyle and Home Park every week and the show focused on us quite a lot.Nothing beats Soccer AM when Tim Lovejoy and Helen Chamberlain used to host it
