Sadly ALL Supporters are tied to the same brush, just a very small minority that have brought flares or other items they know are banned into the ground. Just ban them for life from the ground. Same with racism, thankfully a very small minority of supporters are racist. Find them and ban them for life. Sadly the minority spoil the experience for the majority

Surely anyone letting off a flare would be caught on cctv?

Mixed reports from fans for the Bristol game, although the system is improving. Some walked in with no checks, some just had the scanner used on them while one fan had to open his flask to prove it was coffee inside.
Did they taste the coffee?

May not have anything to do with the club. The security firm may be testing their capacity to deal with the security side of things. It may be training for some of them. The Club may not be aware of the circumstances, and do they really need to know?
Training/testing is indeed a possible hypothesis, and indeed the club may well have requested this. You ask whether the club need to know, and the answer is 100 per cent yes.
Anything which positively or negatively influences the customers experience can effect the reputation of the brand, PAFC. Ingress and egress are a key part of that experience, and the club would want to know in advance the possible effect on their customers of any new policies/practices. It might be a contractor providing the service, but the buck stops at Argyle.

Its like an airport. Some pass through without a pat down and magic wand some people get stopped. Security teams profile you, using police advice and "training". They look for key indicators, such as a padded jacket on a hot day, or very lumpy pockets etc.

In the military, well RAF, we call this combat indicators.

It would be time consuming to check every single person so it would be random checks. Those that want to bring a flare or knife to the game will not understand the random checks or risk being checked. Any that do should be instantly banned for life.

Most trouble is caused between the home and away supporters, prob hence the Lyndhurst checks.

The security company won the contract and have employed lots of new people and as such nonusing trial and error.

Is it right or wrong,? Sadly its the sign of the times we live in.

Following the incident in Plymouth this evening, perhaps we can all quietly and calmly cooperate with the search protocols this weekend at least. It shows that craziness can occur anywhere.

Possibly the most ludicrous comment ever posted on this site, particularly in the immediate wake of a deeply tragic event of which we know nothing at this time.

I've still received no response to my emails on 24th July to the CEO and the Argyle Supporters Liaison lady asking for some information so I've sent reminders.

What no one seems to have thought about in their”righteous “ indignation is that the game might get cancelled both as a mark of respect and to ease pressure on emergency services.
