We come to expect managers of lower placed teams to be replaced, but at the start of next season, of the PL top six, Man C, Liverpool and Bournemouth start with a new man in charge. Michael Carrick at Man U has been in caretaker charge but will now be the main man. We have seen before that such a transition seems to make sense, yet sometimes does not work.
Does this 'disruption' perhaps work in Arsenal and Villa's favour, especially if the latter have a decent summer transfer window.

Well maintenance of the status quo last summer didn't exactly help reigning champions Liverpool 🤭

Personally I think it's a problem for Arsenal. New managers always have to be backed in the transfer market, so Liverpool, City and not forgetting Chelsea will be big spenders, all competing for the same players Arteta will want.

And why would they choose Arsenal? The flair players, the creative players are the ones that make the real difference and why would you put yourself though a season of cautious and negative team orders when you can be free to let loose at Anfield, the Etihad or Stamford Bridge?

Also these new managers will have a certain amount of freedom to consolidate and build, there won't be as much pressure on them as usual... all the pressure will be on Arteta, and he doesn't exactly thrive under pressure.

Can’t stand Liverpool but Iraola is an outstanding manager and will have them competing for the title.

Agreed, on both points.

Wonder how long it'll take for him to become sour? He seems such a humble and likeable guy... but so too did Klopp and Slot before the pressure got to them.

I don't have a favorite in most of the football I watch now, i'll still watch anything but all I want is to watch a good game of football, or witness something dramatic.

My 'allegiance' can switch mid game. I mean, I too dislike Liverpool, and generally side with an underdog. So if Sunderland say were playing Liverpool i'd want them to win... but if Liverpool are 4-0 up at half time... i'll want to see 10.

Anyway, point of all that is, next season virtually everyone up the top is dislikable for one reason or another, so my entertainment will simply be watching for pratfalls, embarrassing defeats and thrashings.

One of the pundits made the point that if he goes to Anfield, Iraola's preferred pressing, high energy style will be tested with Liverpool's European commitments.

Liverpool sold or let go their high press players, Diaz, nunez and salah. They have no high pace fast attacking wingers that can do what that front 3 did.
They will be up there but not win the league i feel.
