I notice Argyle are still charging the dreaded booking fee for the Bristol City friendly, obviously not concerned with the amount but just another moneymaking ploy.Pathetic.
They don’t make money off it, they have to pay ticket master for the privilege.

I’m alll for knocking the club when they lose millions with crappy release clauses but charging an industry standard charge to cover costs is not pathetic. Still banging on about it is a bit though …

If all clubs who used Ticketmaster added the booking fee then you would have a point.... but they don't.

Simple solution, vote with your wallet and don't go!

So long as people pay things like booking fees, service fees, transaction charges etc then they will be charged.

You can't buy a ticket for anything these days without a fee, whereas before they were hidden in the face value cost they now have to be upfront.

The thing that bothers me is the X% fees, like it cost's more to process a £10 gig ticket versus a £100 gig ticket.

Are you the sort of person that only deals in cash or do you use your cards for everything? Maybe Apple Pay or Google Wallet? Society complains about the things after they have fuelled the changes for fear of missing out / FOMO for the young crowd.

Do we know for certain that the booking fee lands in Argyles pocket and not Ticketmasters?
When purchasing tickets through Ticketek, the booking fee is generally received by Ticketek, as they act as an agent for the event organizer. This fee helps cover the costs of providing the ticketing service, including the online platform, customer support, and other related expenses.

The strange thing is you don’t pay a booking fee for a season ticket which requires the staff to produce a plastic card but you pay a booking fee to get a digital ticket for the Bristol game.
As an aside neither Truro or Torquay charged a booking fee for their tickets for the friendlies.

Hence my question, having worked with some of these platforms i know they often take the fee themselves.
As the OP appears to be laying blame towards Argyle they maybe should ask the club who pockets the booking fee.

They might just charge an extra £2 and not be transparent about the booking fee due to all the commotion it causes. They could charge £12 a ticket make the booking fee money back and an extra 50p and nobody would grumble.
They should definitely do this IMO
